I got an email from TheKnot.com at the beginning of the year with a list of “bride’s resolutions.” One was not to use social media to blab about your wedding plans and stresses. Maybe since my maid of honor is the only other person I know on tumblr it’s OK to say that things are getting done and I’m getting really frickin’ excited. Oh yea, and my dress looks amazing.

Last week I had someone ask me why I started a personal website. It’s a good question. I told this person that it’s about personal branding—about being in front of the people who I may one day need. It’s also about sharing. When I see something on a blog or on Twitter that I love, I want other people to know about it too. I love the cross-referencing of life.
But I have had some unanswered questions regarding the brand on my personal site. So maybe this is a solution. Maybe it’s an experiment. Maybe it’s a distraction. You decide.
